On the occasion of the 4th of July, we are taking this opportunity to center a topic that some of us might not expect yet is an essential focus today and every day, namely race, anti-racism, relationships, and white supremacy.
When it comes down to it, the American experience exists only through the lens of race.
Our individual experiences of what it is to be American, what it is to be human in the US, are lived through our racial identities.
As such, “America” means fundamentally different things to different people.
Join us today as we listen to the experiences of our guest, Nya Abernathy, about what it means to be Black in America right now, why white supremacy is an abuser of the oppressed and the oppressor, and how anti-racism is inextricably coupled with dismantling white supremacy.
