Listening to Listen

Listening is one of the most deceptively simple, seemingly passive acts.

But so often, particularly for us perfectionists and people pleasers, we are listening in order to respond rather than listening to listen.

We’re listening to...

Defend

Deflect

Distract

Blame

Shame

Judge

Fix

And when we listen with a purpose other than listening, we interfere with our ability to be fully present.

We cut ourselves off from true connection and communion.

Today, we’re making space for all that’s possible when we practice the art of listening.
