Dieting has become a competitive sport

Dieting BS - Eff Perfect

How many times have you felt totally ashamed and embarrassed listening to someone talk about the latest diet they were on and how fantastic it was and how much weight they planned on losing, all while you sit eating a basket of french fries?

How many times has someone rubbed it in your face how much weight they lifted/lost/gained, or how many calories they burned/earned/consumed on the latest diet craze?

Whether we like it or not, dieting has become competitive in nature. It’s all about who’s lost the most, consumed the least and looks the best.

Eff that!

There is no such thing as the perfect diet. Or the perfect body.

There is only your diet and your body.

Dieting is the restriction of food for a certain period of time, more often than not, dictated by some outside source with the end goal of losing weight. It’s often a quick fix filled with sexy temptations, temporary results and false promises.

Diets paint a 'perfect' picture - “lose 30 pounds in 30 days!” “melt aways inches - fast” all while prancing a perfectly toned, tanned, half naked woman in front of your face encouraging you to fantasize about the day when….you can finally feel happy in your body.

Wanna know what dieting really is? A waste of your precious time and energy.

And it’s a mind fuck. Plain and simple.

And then, when the diet doesn’t work (because they are unrealistic and not sustainable) and we are disappointed and frustrated once again, we blame OURSELVES for the diet not working - not the diet.

It’s B.S and it has to stop.

If you have dieted, are dieting or want to explore a diet to gain the ‘perfect’ body or diet, here’s what we suggest you do instead:

  1. Give the diet the middle finger. 🖕
  2. Start cultivating body trust by looking within yourself for what to eat and when to eat (think inner attunement = outer attainment).
  3. Accept your body for exactly what it is in this very moment because...
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself for just as I am, then I can change.
