A Meditation on My Legs - Eff Perfect

Take a moment to look down at your legs. Where have they taken you today, this month, this year, this lifetime? What physical and metaphorical steps have they taken, big and small? On what adventures have they taken you? Where have they carried you?

Instead of judging them for being too long, too short, too thick, too thin, too muscular, too soft, too pale, too dark… Give them a moment’s gratitude. Just a few seconds out of your day to appreciate them and thank them for all the times they skipped with joy and trudged ahead when you thought you couldn’t take another step.

While you’re lying in bed tonight, place your hands on your legs (or whichever part of your body you most wish to reject for its imperfections). Allow your hands to rest there for a while, feeling the warmth and texture of your skin. In that moment, repeat to yourself...

‘These are my legs. These are my thighs, my knees, my calves. They are parts of my body, and I’m grateful that my body is working as a whole, as it should.’

There is so much more value in those legs of yours than what they look like. And that goes for you too, babe.
